| | Dear Friends of Tsering's Fund, Our team of staff, volunteers, and board members just landed in Nepal for our annual trip— a special time when we visit the schools, meet with sponsored students, connect with local partners, and see firsthand the impact of your generosity. This trip also marks the kickoff of Hero Camp 2025— an empowering leadership and life skills experience for the young women in our sponsorship program. These bright, determined girls are the heart of Tsering’s Fund’s mission, and we can’t wait to share their stories with you. We also have an inspiring sponsor highlight this month featuring a longtime supporter who is making an even greater impact through a matching gift challenge— your donations can go twice as far! Keep reading to see how you can stay connected and make a difference during this exciting time. |
| | One Family’s Sponsorship Story — and Their Matching Gift to Inspire Others |
| | Nine years ago, Jason and Karen Smith of Bozeman, Montana, saw a photo of a bright-eyed six-year-old girl named Lakpa Doma Sherpa from Nepal — and their lives changed forever. What began as a simple decision to sponsor a student has grown into a beautiful, nine-year connection that transcends distance and culture. This October, Jason will travel to Nepal with Tsering’s Fund to meet Lakpa in person for the very first time — a moment nearly a decade in the making. To celebrate this milestone and inspire others to get involved, the Smiths have created a $5,000 matching gift challenge, doubling every dollar donated by new supporters. Their story is a powerful reminder that one act of compassion can ripple outward — changing lives, building bridges, and creating lasting impact. Read the full story and double your impact today |
| | | Hero Camp 2025: Empowering Young Women in Nepal |
| | It’s that time of year again — Hero Camp is here! This special weeklong program brings together our high school and college-aged students for leadership development, confidence-building workshops, mentorship sessions, and team activities designed to inspire and empower. For many of these young women, Hero Camp is more than just an event — it’s a life-changing experience. It’s where they gain the confidence to speak up, the courage to dream big, and the tools to become the next generation of educators, community leaders, and changemakers in Nepal. |
