| Dear Friends, This month at Tsering’s Fund, we’re celebrating the power of community—how one act of generosity can ripple outward to transform lives, classrooms, and entire villages. From the inspiring journey of a former student turned teacher, to new ways we’re creating more equitable experiences for every child, you’ll see how your support continues to make a lasting impact. |
| | Sponsor a Teacher: Investing in Education That Reaches Every Child |
| | At Tsering’s Fund, we believe that every child deserves access to a quality education—no matter how remote their village may be. But in many rural communities in Nepal, one of the biggest barriers isn’t just access to school—it’s access to qualified, consistent teachers. This is why we launched the Sponsor a Teacher program. In some of the schools we support, resources are limited and retaining trained teachers can be a challenge. Without stable, supported educators, students face gaps in learning that can impact their confidence, progress, and future opportunities. When you sponsor a teacher, you’re doing more than supporting a salary—you’re helping ensure that an entire classroom of students has access to consistent, high-quality education. The presence of a dedicated teacher changes everything: - Students receive consistent instruction and guidance
- Classrooms become more engaging and supportive
- Learning outcomes improve across all grade levels
- Children gain confidence and begin to see new possibilities for their future
And perhaps most importantly, teachers often become mentors and role models—especially in rural communities where students have limited exposure to career paths and opportunities. One teacher can impact dozens of students each year—and hundreds over the course of their career. By investing in a teacher, you are strengthening an entire school, expanding opportunity for every student in the classroom, and supporting long-term, sustainable change in rural communities Your support helps fund: - Six teacher salaries
- Classroom stability and consistency
- Access to quality education for students in remote villages
Sponsor a teacher today and help ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn from a dedicated, qualified educator. |
| | | From Student to Teacher: The Story of Khendo Lama |
| | The impact of a teacher can last a lifetime—and Khendo Lama is living proof. With the support of her sponsor, Kristen, Khendo was able to complete her education and earn her bachelor’s degree. She then returned to her village to teach at Shree Melamchi Ghyang Secondary School, the very school where her journey began. She has helped shape the next generation of students—just like she once was. Her story shows what’s possible when education is supported at every level. |
| | | New Gift Policy: A More Equitable Way to Give |
| | We are always looking for ways to better serve every child in our programs with fairness, dignity, and care. As our community has grown, we’ve made an important update to our student gift giving policy. Moving forward, we will no longer accept or distribute physical gifts for individual students from sponsors. While these gifts have always been given with generous hearts, they can create unintended inequities among students and present logistical challenges that limit our overall impact. Instead, we are introducing a shared gift giving approach—inviting donors to contribute to a collective fund that allows us to provide thoughtful, locally appropriate gifts for every child. This ensures that all students feel included and celebrated, while also supporting more sustainable program delivery. |

| | Spotlight: Children Who Need Sponsors |
| | | Roshani Danuwar is 15 years old and currently in Class 6 at Melamchi Ghyang School. She comes from a family of four children, and her parents work as laborers, doing their best to support the family despite limited and uncertain income. Because of financial constraints, affording Roshani’s education is a significant challenge. With support from sponsors, she can continue attending school and focus on her studies. Roshani has a clear goal for her future—she hopes to enter the medical field and one day help care for others in her community. With encouragement and opportunity, she is working toward turning that goal into reality. |
