Dear Friends,

This month, we are excited to share highlights from a special documentary screening held in partnership with Urban Infraconstruction, an inspiring update from our second annual Careers Day program in Nepal, and good news from Shree Bhanjyang Primary School, where students are now learning in a safer environment following the completion of a long-awaited second-floor safety guard rail. Each of these moments reflects the growing community of supporters helping expand educational opportunity and improve safety for children as they plan for their futures.

From raising awareness and building connections here at home to equipping students in Nepal with guidance, confidence, and direction — and ensuring they learn in secure, supportive spaces — these efforts remind us that lasting change happens when compassion is paired with action. Thanks to your continued support, more young people are staying in school, pursuing higher education, and moving toward safer, more hopeful futures.

We are honored to share these updates with you and grateful for the role you play in making this work possible.

Documentary Showing Highlights the Power of Education in Nepal

This month, Tsering’s Fund hosted a special documentary screening in partnership with Urban Infraconstruction at the Coppell Arts Center in North Texas. The event brought together community members and supporters to learn more about the challenges facing children in Nepal and the life-changing impact of education.

The documentary, Helambu,  offered a powerful look at the realities many children face in remote Himalayan communities and how access to education creates pathways to safety, opportunity, and hope.

Prior to the screening, Ann Johnson, President of Tsering’s Fund, and Peter Schmieding, Founder of the organization, shared about the heart behind Tsering’s Fund’s mission and its work supporting education in Nepal. They spoke about how education helps prevent trafficking, break cycles of poverty, and empower young people — especially girls — to build safer and more independent futures. Additionally, Anup Tramrakar, Urban Infraconstructionʻs President and CEO, spoke of his personal connection to mission of Tseringʻs Fund and his commitment to education for Nepali children.

We are deeply grateful to Urban Infraconstruction and Mr. Anup Tramrakar for their partnership and to everyone who attended and supported this meaningful event.

Careers Day 2026: Helping Students Plan for the Future

In February, our team in Nepal hosted the second annual Tsering’s Fund Careers Day program, reaching 162 students across four partner schools.

Through group presentations and one-on-one counseling sessions, students explored career pathways, higher education options, and the practical steps needed to pursue their goals. We were encouraged to hear that every sponsored student interviewed plans to continue their education, and nearly all described their school experience as positive and motivating.

Careers Day is designed to support students at a pivotal moment — helping them move forward with clearer direction, stronger confidence, and renewed hope for the future.

We invite you to read the full update and learn more about the themes that emerged and what they mean for students preparing for the next stage of their education.

Thank you for being part of the Tsering’s Fund community and for helping make opportunities like this possible.

A Safer Future for Students at Shree Bhanjyang Primary School

Students at Shree Bhanjyang Primary School are now learning in a safer environment thanks to the completion of a long-awaited second-floor safety guard rail. Construction of the school building had been delayed for two years due to government funding challenges and administrative delays, leaving the upper level without proper protection. During Tsering’s Fund’s October 2025 visit, our team met with local officials to advocate for the school’s safety needs, helping move the project forward and secure the resources required to finish the railing. Today, students and teachers have greater peace of mind, and the community is celebrating a safer space for learning.

Spotlight: Children Who Need Sponsors

Manila Katuwal

Manila Katuwal is 17 years old and currently in Class 9 at Jyugal Boarding High School. She comes from a family with limited financial means, and the cost of a high-quality education would not be possible without sponsorship support.

Manila especially enjoys studying English and Nepali. Like many Tsering’s Fund students, she is becoming fluent in three languages—her village language, Nepali, and English—opening doors to greater opportunities for her future.

Manila is still exploring her long-term goals, but she is currently interested in pursuing a career in Fashion Design. With encouragement and educational support, she will have the opportunity to discover her talents and shape her own path.

Tsering’s Fund is proud to support students like Manila as they build skills, confidence, and dreams for the future.

Pasang Lhamu Tamang

Pasang Lhamu Tamang is an 18-year-old student in Class 10 at Melamchi Ghyang Secondary School in Nepal. Her father works as a subsistence farmer and laborer, while her mother manages the household. Pasang has two siblings—a brother and a sister.

Pasang dreams of becoming an engineer and using her skills to help build a better future for her community. With your support, she can continue her education and move closer to achieving her career goals.
