Kushi Tamang is a bright and motivated student in Class 4 at Melamchi Ghyang School, located in the beautiful but remote Helambu region of Nepal. She lives with her parents, who are subsistence farmers, and her two siblings—her brother and her sister, who also attends the same school.

Despite the financial hardships her family faces, Kushi is focused on her studies and has a clear dream for her future: she wants to become a teacher. Her goal is to one day return the gift of education to other children in her village.
