Dawa Tsering Lama is a cheerful and curious 5-year-old boy who has just begun his educational journey in Nursery at Melamchi Ghyang School in Nepal. He lives in the Helambu region with his parents and his older brother, Phurpa, who also attends the same school.

Dawa’s parents are subsistence farmers who work hard to provide for their family, but they struggle to afford the costs of education. Despite these challenges, Dawa arrives at school eager to learn and grow.
